Women's Resource Center Holiday Gift Drive

November 1 – December 11

Let's make the holidays a little brighter for women, children, and teens in our community.

For the fourth year, Blessed Be Tea & Apothecary is collecting holiday gifts for the Women's Resource Center of Northern Michigan and the women, children, and teenagers currently staying in their shelter during the holiday season.

This drive is specifically for new items intended to be given as gifts. Think less "things for the thrift store" and more things that bring comfort, joy, creativity, and a little bit of holiday magic to someone who may be going through an incredibly difficult time.

Some ideas include:

  • New toys and games

  • Pajamas

  • Art supplies and art kits

  • Books and creative activities

  • Comfort items

  • Self-care items

  • Gift certificates for Hair or Nail Appointments (It's amazing how powerful this can be)

  • Gifts for teenagers

  • Gifts for children of all ages

  • Other new items that would make someone smile

  • Gift certificates and gift cards are also welcome

  • We will also graciously accept monetary donations through this posting.

And please don't forget the teenagers! It can be easy to think about little kids when choosing holiday gifts, but teens deserve some holiday magic too.

All donations must be received by December 11. This is a hard deadline, as we will be delivering the collected gifts to the Women's Resource Center after the drive closes.

The Women's Resource Center is an organization that is particularly close to our hearts at Blessed Be. They have supported members of our own community when they needed somewhere to turn. We are incredibly grateful for the work they continue to do.

The Women's Resource Center provides support to people experiencing domestic violence and other forms of abuse, and their services are available to people of all backgrounds and identities. Their work extends beyond a single definition of who needs help, and we are proud to support an organization that works to make sure people can find safety, resources, and support when they need it.

Giving doesn't have to be grand. Sometimes it's a pair of pajamas. A craft kit. A toy. A gift card. Something small that says, "Someone thought about you."

Let's make this a season of giving.
